E-14 (1.0) — until 2023
The E-14 (1.0) was made for the Bosch eBike System 2 (BES2) and Panasonic FIT1 systems, until the end of 2023. For today’s versions: Rohloff E-14.
- load-free shifting coordinated with the Bosch or Panasonic FIT drive
- every gear can be selected at a standstill
- Multi-Shift and starting gear (Auto-Downshift)
- power from the e-bike system
- suitable for S-Pedelecs without restriction
How it shifts
Section titled “How it shifts”The E-14 connects directly to the e-bike system’s CAN bus and constantly monitors the assistance level, the crank position and your current power. After you press + or −, the system waits for the ideal moment: it reduces the motor’s assistance, sends the shift command, shifts quickly and precisely at the best crank position, then restores the assistance — all in about 0.2 seconds.
You can help: pedal at 50–80 rpm, do not push hard on the pedals while shifting, and shift down in good time, before a climb for instance. That spares the drivetrain and extends the battery’s range.
Operation, fitting, maintenance
Section titled “Operation, fitting, maintenance”- operation: on Bosch BES2 · on Panasonic FIT1
- fitting on BES2 and FIT1
- maintenance on BES2 and FIT1
- error codes on BES2 and FIT1
The Classic app
Section titled “The Classic app”The Rohloff E-14 1.0 Classic app updates the E-14 (1.0)’s software over a radio link, and a workshop can also install manufacturer-specific software with it. As it is only needed for servicing, it is available only for Android 12 and later, not for iOS: Classic app on Google Play. For its modes, see Classic app modes (E-14 1.0).
