Estimates and costs
There are no hidden costs with us. We publish the basic service prices on the home page, under service prices; anything that may come on top of that, you always know about in advance.
How the estimate is made
Section titled “How the estimate is made”- Assessment. Before any work starts, we always inspect the hub and the parts around it.
- We tell you first. If parts need replacing beyond the basic service — a worn sprocket or a damaged cable, say — we let you know in advance, with the price.
- Only with your approval. We do the extra work only once you have approved it.
What counts as a wear part?
Section titled “What counts as a wear part?”The SPEEDHUB’s sealed, oil-bath gear unit is not a wear part, but some of the parts around it are: the sprocket, the shift cables, the twist-grip rubber, the brake disc, the shaft seals, the gaskets and the bearings. How soon they need replacing depends on how the bike is used, and they are not covered by the warranty — which is why the yearly service is the right time to have them checked. Details: Warranty, invoice and serial number.
